Salamanders and Slugs...oh my!

One beautiful afternoon, in our wonderful backyard...enjoying the sun and my great kids.

Think it lasts? Not for me it doesn't....

Enter the slugs...

Okay...to know me is to love me. To be my child...you gotta really love me...I like things clean. Like really, really clean. Slugs on my kids hand....that's not my definition of clean. So I fixed it...

On go the gloves.

Never mind the comments...they're still happy and now I'm happy, well in my happy place maybe! bah ha ha ha...

Okay, seriously....a Salamander too?

Turns out Jordan spotted a Salamander in one of our window wells. Later that day, after the children ran into the house to their computer to "research the origin" (their words, not mine) we learned our little guest was a Tiger Salamander.

Just super...*barf*

Well, kids figured they'd help him return to his chosen hibernation spot. We then set a date to meet the little fella...or gal...in the spring. Better not get in my house, that's all I wanna add!

You can make out his tail as he digs into the earth. Kind of mid picture.

J & W tackle their first messy diaper...

So my children are hilarious, well I think so anyways! They insisted on changing one of Maddex's diapers...so of course his next one was FULL of the ugly stuff! I'll give them both credit, they did it...and well to boot!

Wallace's facial expressions are priceless as you'll see...

So diaper rash cream in our house has been dubbed "baby butt goo"...I was pretty impressed they did that part of the process too!

Thankfully...Maddex is a patient baby as re-dressing proved to be quite the task!

Maddex's first photo shoot

So we had TLPphotography come by the house and take some 1 month photo's of Maddex. He's almost 6lbs in these shots so he still looks really tiny. You'll see him in a silver bowl...its my table bowl and I plan on using it in his photos as he grows.

Such a sweetie...
